The diary of a Danish immigrant from Germany translated and typewritten on old typewriter in 1938. Begins January 1887, ends with November 1892. Elena died February 5, 1893, in Houston, Texas. Genealogy of the Hinrichsen/Hansen family is at the end of the diary, followed by a chronological listing of the events in her life from 1887-1892. She was born December 16, 1834 on the Isle Fohr, Denmark. Edgewear and rust on the hinges of this very old binder. Interior pages are clean and undamaged. ; 4to 11" - 13" tall; 30093

She rode a horse to Woodrow School, went to Coupland and Thrall Schools and earned a BA (English) from the University of Houston. She was married to Henry Goetz Jordan, an American citizen born in Berlin, Germany. This is her third book on Texas and Swedish immigrant history. Recognitions include a 2005 commendation from the American Association of State and Local History, the Swedish Council of America's Award of Merit, Uddevalla's Order of the Raven, and Post Oak Island Masonic Lodge's Community Builder of the Year in 1997.; Small 4to 9" - 11" tall; 336 pages; 31013; Signed by Author
