Howard Greer was a Hollywood fashion designer and a costume designer in the Golden Age of American cinema. He went to Hollywood in 1923, and joined Paramount Pictures. From 1923, Greer created costumes for many films while working for the big studios. In 1927, he opened his own couture shop to work freelance for the movie companies. He was known for his glamourous sophisticated evening gowns and dresses. He won the Costume Designers Guild Hall of Fame Award (2004) . The following pages are missing entirely (not removed, just missing) : 241-248 (a b/w plate with Gracie Allen on one side, Howard Greer on the other follows page 241) and 217-224 (a b/w plate of Marlene Dietrich on one side and Hedda Hopper on the other follow page 217).
