The history of the Texas Rangers is, in a sense, the history of Texas itself. They have been engaged since 1823 in defending the lives and property of Texans. Stephen F. Austin conceived the idea and employed ten men from a group of volunteers. There are full-color reproductions of seven original oil paintings by David Sanders. This book covers the biographies of seven famous Rangers, written by well-known historians. DJ somewhat edgeworn with a couple of tiny closed tears and some soil on rear panel, in mylar.
